However, one thing you might not expect is that the number of releases from IP has not decreased compared to six months ago—still maintaining 21 works per month, including 19 new releases and 2 best-of compilations. This means that while they are losing established talents, they are actively “refreshing” their lineup. It’s a fierce reshuffling at IP, and Azusa Hikari’s move to Attackers signifies that she is still in demand.
Why was she let go?
Typically, there are three main reasons for an actress being “let go” by a film company:

Azusa Hikari plays a good daughter who supports her mother’s remarriage. Her mother finds a second chance at happiness with a wealthy doctor, and Azusa is genuinely happy for her. However, as often happens in AV, daughters who join their mothers in a new family face unwanted attention from the “evil stepfather.”
And here enters Masahiro Tabuchi!
As a doctor, he pretends to be conducting medical exams but instead exploits Azusa Hikari’s body, using the guise of “treatment” to sexually assault her. Since he is a doctor, everything he says is taken as truth, and Azusa’s mother, blind to the abuse, does nothing. This results in Azusa being taken advantage of by Tabuchi with no resistance.
This will undoubtedly satisfy Tabuchi, and certain fans will enjoy the scenes as well. As for Azusa Hikari’s thoughts on switching from Ideapocket to Attackers, she hasn’t shared much publicly. She has not made any statement about the move on her X account (https://x.com/azusa_hikari_), and she hasn’t retweeted the release yet. However, she has asked her fans to continue supporting her.
From my perspective, for Azusa, it probably doesn’t matter much where she films. She seems to view AV as just another job. In fact, during a holiday week, she worked five times, which suggests she treats filming like a fixed schedule, just a couple of days a month. As long as the pay doesn’t decrease too much, she doesn’t seem to be putting too much effort into her career anymore.
